To meet this demand, Zinio is expanding both its sales force and international distribution and reseller partnerships.
"With Zinio, we are able to reach readers economically in expensive-to-serve foreign markets. We have launched a range of consumer special interest publications, starting with Downloaded, a new digital-only entertainment publication focused on the latest and coolest online content available to download," said Paul Cheal, Publishing Director for Country and Leisure Media at IPC.
"Publishers around the globe are challenged with finding new readers and cost-effectively reaching international audiences," said Jeff Bruce, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Zinio, LLC. "We offer digital publishing solutions that bring new services to magazine readers and, through digital delivery, make the world's leading magazine brands available to anyone, anywhere."
Joining VNU, IDG, Future Publishing, Jane's Information Group, CPI and Acer as Zinio international publishing partners are Dennis Publishing, Editora Abril, Editorial Televisa, Grupo Internacional Editorial, and IPC. These new partners offer readers a wide variety of general interest, hobbyist and trade magazines in digital format, including:
- IPC (UK): Downloaded (a digital only entertainment magazine), Superbike, International Boat Industry, and Stamp, plus other special interest titles to be available in the future
- Editora Abril (Brazil): Veja, the world's third-largest newsweekly
- Editorial Televisa (Mexico): Popular Mechanics en Español, PC Magazine, Conozca Más, Eres and Tú
"Zinio made it possible for us to test digital editions with local audiences in Mexico and Spanish speaking readers in the United States and Latin America who found it difficult and expensive to get their favorite local magazines," said Lavin Murcio Juan Carlos, Operations Manager & Web Editor, Editorial Televisa. "And we are seeing initial reader acceptance that is very encouraging," he added.
